Our Story

Fifteen years of
twisting expectations.

Every brewery has a story. Ours starts with a Cinco de Mayo party and ends — so far — with the best patio in Dripping Springs.

  1. 2011

    Cinco de Mayo, Cedar Park

Twisted X launches commercially at The Dig Pub in Cedar Park, founded by Shane Bordeau and Jim Sampson — and pioneers the trademarked Tex Mex Beer category.

  2. 2011–14

    The original lineup

Twisted X Premium Tex Mex Lager leads the way, joined by Fuego jalapeño pilsner, Señor Viejo Imperial Black Lager, and Chupahopra IPA.

  3. 2014

    Hill Country, here we come

The brewery moves through Lago Vista and Cedar Park before putting down roots in Dripping Springs with a 10,000 sq ft facility built for the long haul.

  4. 2015

    A paella dinner changes everything

The team gathers around a paella dinner to plan a hazy IPA. A sales rep floats a name — McConauhaze — and Twisted X's flagship is born.

  5. Today

A destination, seven days a week

Taproom, brewery tours, live music, a dog-friendly patio, and a rotating food truck — the Hill Country hangout the beer always deserved.
